Markham teamed up with fashion guru, tv presenter and blogger – Boy on a Park Bench, Shiraz Reddy and tackled the fashion at #SAMW.
Find out more about Shiraz and take a glimpse into the fashion on, and off the ramps.
Who is Shiraz: Shiraz Reddy is a qualified fashion & lifestyle PR practitioner. I am a freelance stylist and I write a blog “The Boy On The Park Bench”. I’m inspired by street style, the cosmo streets of Cape Town, Joburg and SA’s diverse cultures.
Why do you love fashion: I love fashion because from as far back as I can remember, it has been a constant in my life. It’s given me a lot of freedom to be my own individual, in the world. Also my parents, as I grew up, instilled the rule of “first impressions” lasts, so always maintain a neat exterior but that also speaks to your inner being.
What is your fashion staple: A well fitted classic white shirt, indigo blue jeans and a pair of brown brogues.
Which designer were you most looking forward to: Mzukisi Mabena of Imprint as well as Ruald Rheeder – 2 of my favorite SA designers.
Which was your favourite collection and why: it would have to be Nicholas Coutts & Orange Culture – both collections were right up my ally as to what I’d wear.
How can the average man on the street put the elements from the collections into their everyday wardrobe: It’s simple – mix & match. Use your existing staple and jazz it up with something new. Great way to do this is to introduce colour and prints or even just through accessories, like a hat/cap or bag.
